Blue Journey: Chamber Music Concert on February 27, 2015

Mesut Özgen will be joined by an impressive group of musicians to perform his compositions for solo guitar and various combinations of voice, flute, violin, cello, guitar, and piano at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center Concert Hall in Miami, Florida on Friday, February 27, 2015.

The Amernet String Quartet members violinists Misha VitensonMarcia Littley, and cellist Jason Calloway; guitarists Celso Cano and Mesut Özgen; pianist Marina Radiushina; soprano Laura Martinez-Leon; and flutist Elissa Lakofsky will perform a variety of works composed by Özgen, including:

Yemen Türküsü for two guitars
Two Spanish Songs for soprano and guitar
Rumeli Türküsü for violin and guitar (audio excerpt is from the guitar duo version)

Istanbul Express for two violins, cello, voice, and piano

Blue Journey for flute, cello, and guitar
Turkish Folk Songs for violin, cello, and guitar

    I just heard the Chamber Project St. Louis perform Blue Journey in St, Louis at the International Chess Hall of Fame (April 22, 2015). It’s one of the most beautiful chamber pieces I’ve heard in many years
