Orient Express Concert on October 28, 2016

Considered one of the finest Turkish pianists of her generation, Hande Dalkılıç teams up with guitarist/composer Mesut Özgen for the Orient Express and present music from Istanbul to London along the train route of the famous Orient Express.

First created in 1883,  the route of the Orient Express changed many times. Today it continues to run from London to Venice and other destinations in Europe, including the original route from Paris to Istanbul. Dalkılıç and Özgen perform duo and solo works by Malcolm Arnold, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt, Ahmet Adnan Saygun, Mesut Özgen, and Carlo Domeniconi in this route, including a world premiere by Mesut Özgen, in honor of American composer Lou Harrison based on a makam by Moldavian-Turkish composer Prince Cantemir.
