The extraordinary FIU alumnus composer Carlos Rafael Rivera visited Mesut Özgen’s guitar class at FIU during the Panther Alumni Week on February 2, 2015, sharing his invaluable experiences as a professional musician with the guitar students.
Rivera is a commissioned and award winning composer whose career has spanned several genres of the music industry. His soundtrack for Universal Pictures’ A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES, starring Liam Neeson and directed by Scott Frank, is now available through Varèse-Sarabande Records. Many thanks to our distinguished alumnus who shared his professional experience and had a great interaction with all the guitar students. Watch him talk about the craft of composing for the movie.
