The program presents some of the renowned works of Prince Dimitrie Cantemir (Kantemiroglu) in the context of his cultural world: we perform his Classical Ottoman compositions with taksim improvisations as his Turkish audience would have heard them; we present traditional Moldavian tunes from his homeland and European alla Turca  reflections of Turkish music in historical style; and we explore the continuing legacy of Cantemir through recent works.
